Data protection
Africana attaches great importance to protecting your privacy. Our Privacy Policy informs you how we collect, use, and share your information. Because protecting your privacy is our priority, we encourage you to read our Privacy Policy carefully. We allow you to access, update, and control your personal information. The security of your data is important to us, which is why we take comprehensive measures such as protection against unauthorized access, data encryption, and secure data transmission.
Spam protection with Google reCAPTCHA
We have implemented Google reCAPTCHA in forms on our website to verify whether the data entered into the forms comes from human visitors or from machines or automated programs, also known as "bots." This tool automatically analyzes the behavior of website visitors as soon as they interact with the website, using various information such as IP address, length of stay, and mouse movements. The processed data includes usage data such as the website accessed, date and time of access and mouse movements, as well as communication data such as IP addresses, browser type, and operating system. This processing is aimed at website visitors and users of online services. The main purpose of this processing is to prevent misuse of our contact form and thereby increase security. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The data recipients are Google Ireland Ltd, located at Google Building Gordon House, Barrow St, Dublin 4, Ireland, (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and our website hosting provider. While your personal data is processed within the EU, the retention period for the processed data is determined by Google Ireland Limited. For more information, see the Google reCAPTCHA privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de
Website analysis (Jimdo statistics)
When you visit our website, we collect information about your usage through a web analytics tool provided by our hosting service. Your IP address and user agent are combined, shortened, and stored using a hash function. A randomly generated value (SALT) that changes every 24 hours is used to create a visitor identifier. This method ensures that your IP address cannot be reconstructed from the stored visitor identifier, thus preserving your anonymity. The collected data is not combined with any other data and remains exclusively on the hosting provider's server.
In addition, we process web analytics data, HTTP data, and web analytics profile data. The web analytics tool creates a profile containing information such as page views, visit frequency, length of stay, and your device's user agent. This data includes usage and communication data, such as pages visited, access times, browser type, operating system, and IP addresses.
We use this data to anonymously analyze user behavior and improve the presentation and content of our website. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, particularly in conducting web measurements to optimize our website and offerings.
The data collected is shared with our hosting provider and processed exclusively within the EU.
